FAQ

Find answers to frequently asked questions.

What is BIMO Toolbar?

BIMO Toolbar is a BIM-focused Revit add-in that turns Dynamo, Python and C# scripts into one-click commands on a fully branded ribbon toolbar. It also connects to the BIMO Library marketplace and supports cloud-synced presets.

Which Revit versions are supported?

Revit 2021 to 2026. Each installer ships with the matching Autodesk API DLLs, so every version runs safely inside your BIM workflow.

Do I need Revit SDK or Visual Studio to add a command?

No. Drop a .py, .dyn or compiled .dll into the shared Commands folder, and BIMO Toolbar detects it instantly and creates a button for you.

Can I brand the toolbar with my company colours and icons?

Yes. Upload a simple JSON theme and the add-in restyles itself.

  • logo and HEX palette
  • SVG icon set
  • light and dark UI themes

How are presets stored and shared?

When you run a command, BIMO Toolbar auto-builds a form for its input parameters. Any set of values can be saved as a named preset.

  • Storage options: keep presets in BIMO Cloud for company-wide BIM teams or locally for personal use.
  • Scoped sharing: assign presets to roles, projects or folders so only the right users see them.
  • Web dashboard: rename, duplicate and track version history of every preset in a browser.
  • One-click buttons: pin a favourite preset directly to the toolbar as its own command for instant reuse.

What analytics are collected?

Opt-in telemetry logs help you understand BIM efficiency.

  • command ID and run time
  • error codes and stack traces
  • hours-saved metric that exports to CSV or Power BI

How is this different from pyRevit or Dynamo Player?

pyRevit has no cloud presets, branding or usage metrics, and Dynamo Player only runs .dyn scripts. BIMO Toolbar unifies Dynamo, Python and C#, adds corporate styling and includes enterprise-grade BIM analytics.

Will it work offline?

Local commands keep running without an internet connection. Cloud functions such as presets, analytics and marketplace install simply pause until the next sync.

How much does BIMO Toolbar cost after launch?

The Pro plan starts at $65 USD per user per month. Join the waitlist now and get a 25 percent lifetime discount on all BIM automation features.

What’s on the roadmap?

  • Q4 2025: scheduled headless Revit jobs for nightly QC and exports
  • 2026: AI Agent API and Zapier or n8n connector for BIM automation
  • later: private on-prem deployment for regulated industries
