About BIMO opens the BIMO Toolbar information window. Use it to view the installed version and available plan, check for a stable update, download the installer, activate a license key, and open the website or release notes.
Find the command in BIMO > Stay up to date > About BIMO.
When To Use It
Check the installed BIMO Toolbar version.
See whether a newer stable release is available for the current Revit version.
Download an update without leaving Revit.
View the active plan name and short description when they are available from the license.
Activate a new license key.
Open the BIMO website or release notes.
Requirements
The command is available even when no Revit project is open.
An internet connection is required to check for updates, download the installer, open website pages, or activate a key.
After the update finishes downloading, all running Revit instances must be closed before automatic installation can start.
The command does not modify the current Revit model and does not use preselection.
What The Window Shows
Plan
The top of the window shows the plan name and short description from the current license. These fields may be empty when plan information has not been received from the server.
The Upgrade button does not open a pricing page. In the current implementation, it navigates to the license-key entry screen.
Version And Update Status
The first time the page opens, BIMO automatically:
reads the installed Toolbar version;
sends the current Revit major version to the update service;
retrieves the latest stable BIMO version compatible with that Revit version;
compares it with the installed version.
While the request is running, the window displays Checking for a new version….
After the check, it displays one of these results:
You're on the latest version — no newer stable version is available;
Good news! Version … is now available — an update is available;
a warning containing an error message — the check failed.
A prerelease toggle exists only as a hidden UI element and is not currently available to users. The command checks the stable channel.
Installing An Update
When a newer version is available, the Update button appears.
Click Update.
BIMO prepares the download and retrieves the installer for the current Revit version.
The window displays the download state and progress.
When the download finishes, BIMO asks you to close all Revit instances.
Close every running Revit instance.
The helper updater waits until Revit is closed and then runs the MSI silently without restarting Windows.
The installer is first stored in a temporary folder inside the installed BIMO Toolbar directory. After installation, the temporary MSI is deleted on a best-effort basis.
Canceling A Download
Closing the About BIMO window or leaving the page while a download is active requests cancellation. The incomplete file is deleted on a best-effort basis.
After the installer has been fully downloaded and the updater has already started, closing About BIMO does not cancel the pending installation.
Activating A License Key
Click Upgrade.
Enter the key under Enter license key.
Click ACTIVATE.
Wait for the online validation result.
The activation button is disabled for an empty value and while a request is already in progress.
After successful activation, BIMO stores the server-confirmed key and license data in its local license cache. If activation fails, the previous key is restored.
The plan shown on the already-open home page is not refreshed automatically after activation. Close and reopen About BIMO to reload the current plan data.

Both links open in the external default browser.
Result And Revit Impact
The command does not create a model-changing transaction.
The update check sends the Revit major version required to select a compatible release.
License activation sends the entered key to the BIMO licensing service.
A downloaded update is installed only after all Revit processes have closed.
The command has no settings, presets, or variants.

Known Limitations
There is no separate manual recheck button in an already-open window.
Users cannot enable a prerelease update channel through the current interface.
Detailed release notes are not displayed inside Revit; they open on the website.
The activation screen does not purchase or manage a subscription; it only validates an existing key.
